Description Maria (Maryna) née Rogowska Falska (1877–1944), here pictured as a 10-year-old girl, was an educator, educational, social and independence activist, and a member of the Polish Socialist Party (until its split). She co-founded - together with Janusz Korczak (Henryk Goldszmit), the main author of the original educational program of the institution - the Educational Center "Nasz Dom" (‘Our Home’) for orphaned Polish working-class children. Falska managed the center from its establishment in 1919 until her death during the Warsaw Uprising.
