| Description | The third part of this three-volume publication dealing with questions of children's rights in the context of Janusz Korczak's pedagogical philosophy and practice. This post-conference publication contains texts sent for the III Congress of Children's Rights and VIII International Korczak Conference, which took place simultaneously between 13-16 September 2017 at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. More than 800 participants took part in the event, including 120 persons from outside of Poland. The publication was made available in two separate parts. The authors of the first of these, titled History and Memory, was penned by: Adam Daniel Rotfeld, Agnieszka Witkowska-Krych, Marlena Sęczek, Batia Gilad and Wiesław Theiss. Articles included in this part of the publication present the following perspectives: historical, cultural, literary, pedagogical. They all consider themes of history, both global and local, including their familial contexts. They also delve into questions connected with the process of passing histories down to subsequent generations. The authors of the final part of the volume titled Miscellanea are: Tatyana Tsyrlina-Spady, Yossi Michal, Ari Ben Tova, Dorota Jaworska-Matys, Khedi Alieva, Mariola Pietroń-Ratyńska, Michał Kozień, Karolina Onyszkiewicz, Bożena Szroeder, Mariola Strahlberg, Lyaysan Anatolievna Rybakova, Wojciech Lasota, Rina Yitzhaki, Tomasz Polkowski, Zofia Adamaszek, Adam Chmura, Agata Dimmich, Michał Gójski, Agata Jasztal, Magdalena Kisiel, Magdalena Pater, Robert Ruta, Marlena Szcześniak and Sylwia Urbańska-Trzcińska. These texts touch upon a range of themes, including the foundations of the teaching profession, various aspects of children's rights, multiculturalism and identity, different forms of foster caring, the relevance of Korczak's philosophical thought and pedagogical practice. |
