[Letter to Janina Gołębiewska]
Collection | Główna Biblioteka Lekarska im. S. Konopki |
Description | The answer from the deputy president of the Warsaw Medical Chamber to a request from Janina Gołębiewska, in which he informs her that, as far as he knows, Janusz Korczak gave his property away to help social causes. It was not known whether he owned any property in Warsaw. The vice president of the Warsaw Medical Chamber adds in writing Janusz Korczak's father's personal data, as well as that of his grandparents. Janina Gołębiewska filed a legal claim in 1953 to confirm her rights to such inheritance in a regional court in Lublin. This right was not awarded her. Janina Gołębiewska died in 1968. She was the daughter of Aleksandra Cecylia Reiner, who changed her faith to Catholicism and in 1890 was married to Antoni Gołębiewski. Aleksandra Cecylia Reiner was in turn the daughter of Mindla Goldszmit Reiner, the sister of Józef Goldszmit, Janusz Korczak's father. |
