| Description | This publication tells the story of a teacher who, by using magic, once again becomes a little boy. The brutality and indifference he experiences at the hands of adults mean he feels isolated, misunderstood and lost. He begins to realise that visions of happy childhood are illusory. In fact, this is an incredibly painful time in human development – thus Korczak uses this novel to undermine the myth of happy childhoods. The book contains his ideas about children's rights which were expressed by him in pedagogical publications. In writing this novel Korczak made use of idea contained in his other works, especially "Feralny tydzień". „Kiedy znów będę mały” was only published once during Korczak's lifetime – in 1925. |
