The study titled “Fotoplastykon w getcie – z serii: miejsca rozrywki w getcie”

Collection Żydowski Instytut Historyczny
Description This document describes the work of the photoplasticon in the Warsaw Ghetto. After Jews were forbidden from entering cinemas, Icchak Grynwald from Łodz, along with his wife, opened a photoplasticon at 27 Leszno Street on 12.04.1941, where they showed photographs from Italy, Egypt, Japan and other countries. Janusz Korczak supported the idea of setting up such a photoplasticon, which was at times visited by young people enrolled in underground education programmes (tajne komplety). Having proved unprofitable, it was closed on 10.07.1941.
