The place of Janusz Korczak in Polish Academia Pedagogy

Collection Janusz Korczak Association of Canada
Description This article examines Janusz Korczak’s self-taught approach to pedagogy and his lasting influence on modern education. Despite lacking formal training, Korczak developed innovative ideas through decades of work with children and extensive writing. Initially dismissed by Polish academia for being ideologically unconventional, his contributions were later recognized as groundbreaking. Today, Korczak is regarded as a pioneer of child-centered education, a reformer, and a leading figure in the study of childhood and modern pedagogy.
