Prawo dziecka do szacunku

Collection Biblioteka Narodowa
Description This pedagogical publication in the form of an essay is the summary of thoughts, convictions and considerations Korczak developed on the theme of children's rights. The book appears to be a sort of Korczak's manifesto and credo. The text is split into the following parts: "Lekceważenie - nieufność", "Niechęć", "Prawo do szacunku", "Prawo dziecka, by było, czym jest" – for it to be what it is. By developing a vision of children's issues in various parts of this book, Korczak presents a vision of children and their rights. According to him, children should not be treated like intruders into the world of adults. Korczak will not allow this to stand, demanding adults respect children's rights, which he goes on to list and discuss with some precision. Korczak believes children are human beings with incredible sensitivity. The book was issued only the once during Korczak's lifetime – in 1929. Korczak writes in a publication titled "Pedagogika żartobliwa" (1939), "Prawo dziecka do szacunku" is a summary of the lectures he gave around 1926-1928.
