Collection | Muzeum Niepodległości |
Description | Document relating to the work completed by Stanisław Żemis in Our Home – a one page certificate issued by the Pedagogical Council of Our Home. This certificate was produced as a template which then had the recipient's details written in by hand. Half- way down the certificate features a summary of the Dormitory in Our Home. The second half of the certificate features a Statement of the Pedagogical Council, which includes details of the periods and nature of the work done by Stanisław Żemis in Our Home between 1925-1929. The bottom of this document features signatures by Janusz Korczak and Maria Falska and the date 05.12.1934. The document is stamped with two stamps used by the Our Home Educational Institute. It is likely this document was issued to help Stanisław Żemis secure a job in a school. Stanisław Żemis (1902-78), was a teacher closely associated with Our Home between 1925-1932. He then became active in assisting those with eyesight problems, including work with the Polish Association of the Blind. In 2018 he was identified as the author of the most important Holocaust testimony in Łuków, which was his home during WWII. Dimensions: 35,5x22,5 cm. Medium: typed, handwritten, stamped on paper. |
