Pedagogika żartobliwa ; Moje wakacje

Collection Biblioteka Narodowa
Description This publication is a record of radio broadcasts hosted by Janusz Korczak, who appeared playing a character called Stary Doktór / Old Doc. This series of radio programmes was titled My Holidays, and was broadcast in July and August 1938. The book was published in the summer of 1939. Korczak wrote the book during a stay at the Mężenin estate by the river Bug which he frequented in the 1930. The text alludes to this location, along with the names of people Korczak came in contact with there. Mężenin on the Bug was at the time leased by the Polish Theosophical Society and was a meeting place for members of the Masonic community. Transcripts of the radio shows have not survived, hence we cannot confirm if they were in any way modified before being published in book format. Those printed in the book have a humorous character, including stories about various trips, sporting contests and conflicts between children. Almost all of these short chapters end with succinct commentary from the author.
