| Description | This book, which Korczak himself called a brochure, is a unique sort of guidebook to how best run a school newspaper. It deals with issues such as: gathering content for the newspaper, hosting meetings for the editorial team, transcribing the newspaper, organising competitions for readers, engaging adults in publishing processes. The book is aimed at children and young adults. Korczak believed that newspapers co-authored by children were very important publications. He considered the process of publishing a newspaper an education in itself, something he covered in writings such as "Jak kochać dziecko. Dom Sierot”. „O gazetce szkolnej” was written during a time when children's publishing was flourishing in Poland. This was also a time of debates about modernising reforms in schooling. A few years after this brochure was written, in 1926 Korczak set up and edited a journal for children and young people called "Mały Przegląd". |
