Sam na sam z Bogiem : modlitwy tych, którzy się nie modlą

Collection Biblioteka Narodowa
Description This publication is a collection of eighteen fictional prayers penned by, among others, a mother, a small child, a carefree woman, an elder, and an artist. Korczak dedicated this work to both his parents and all his ancestors. This work is an example of poetic prose writing, allowing Korczak to reveal his feelings, thoughts and imagined notions. It is a record of a discourse with a God which does not belong to any single religion, and is evidence of Korczak's own non-confessional spirituality. He stressed this by adding the following subtitle: "Modlitwy tych, którzy się nie modlą". The motive for Korczak having written this work is likely to have been the death of his mother, who passed away in 1920 having caught typhus from her son. The only time this book was published during Korczak's lifetime was in 1921, though it was dated 1922.
