Description The second part of a three-volume publication dealing with questions of children's rights in the context of Janusz Korczak's pedagogical philosophy and practice. This post-conference publication contains texts submitted for the III Congress of Children's Rights and VIII International Korczak Conference, which took place simultaneously between 13-16 September 2017 at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. More than 800 participants took part in the event, including 120 persons from outside of Poland. The publication was made available in two languages: Polish and English – in two separate parts. The authors of the second of these, titled Korczak's Notions of Education and Social Work, was penned by: Barbara Smolińska-Theiss, Marek Konopczyński, Marc Silverman, Roza Valeeva, Avi Tsur, Luciana Castrillon, Adam Solak, Małgorzata Kmita, Ramilya Shamilevna Kasimova, Rosa Maria Mendizabal-Espinosa and Ina Lekkai. Articles included in this volume deal with the following perspectives: pedagogical, psychological, political, social and sociological. The common theme is the question of the relevance of Korczak's pedagogical practice and philosophical ideas in the context of contemporary learning and education, as well as parenting methods in different countries. The authors of the subsequent volume titled Citizenship and Children's Rights to Participation are: Ewa Jarosz, Nigel Patrick Thomas, Jonathan Levy, Philip D. Jaffé, Coraline Hirschi and Maja Brzozowska-Brywczyńska. The articles included in this part of the publication present pedagogical and sociological perspectives. A shared theme is the question of children's civic participation. The authors of the last part of the volume, titled Korczak and... are: Grzegorz Kowal, Marek Nowak, Joop W.A. Berding, Mieke Felix and Shlomi Doron. The articles included in this part of the publication cover literary studies, philosophical and pedagogical perspectives. In the texts included in this part of the publication Korczak's various philosophical considerations have been contrasted with the works of Friedrich Nietzsche, Jan Władysław Dawid, Hanna Arendt and Rabindranath Tagore.
