My life as a child of Janusz Korczak – the father of children’s rights - the biography of Shlomo Nadel

Collection Janusz Korczak Association of Canada
Description English translation from Hebrew of the biography of a boy called Shlomo Nadl (1920-2018) raised by Janusz Korczak and Stefania Wilczyńska between 1927-1939. The book details how the Orphanage functioned and the methods used there to shape the characters of the children in it. Much of the book is devoted to how children were raised through focus on developing their passions. In the case of Shlomo Nadel this was photography – he was helped in this by Felek Grzyb, an older friend from the Orphanage, who was training to be a professional photographer. In addition, in the book we see images of Janusz Korczak and Stefania Wilczyńska. The book is further enhanced by photographs from the Orphanage, many of which are not well known.
