Zeszyt Dnia Dziecka

Collection Biblioteka Narodowa
Description Temporary printing, containing the text included in "Opieka nad Dzieckiem" in April 1931. From 1929, Children's Day was celebrated in May (previously celebrated in September). Towards the end of the 1920s, Korczak was involved in organising Children's Week celebrations in Warsaw, celebrated alongside Mother's Day events. The text of “Zeszyt Dnia Dziecka” contains proposals offered up to children relating to various activities relating to these festivities. In this respect, “Zeszyt Dnia Dziecka” is reminiscent of "Mały Przegląd", a newspaper for young readers edited by Korczak between 1926-1930. The editors of this publication often asked young readers to send in letters written on specific topics, running competitions in order to include children in the writing process. These invitations were received by children with real enthusiasm. As far as we know, the invitations contained in “Zeszyt Dnia Dziecka" found no respond.
